(Hello in Uzbek)
Today I have done a Baking Soda & Vinegar Volcano with my family. It was really fun. We all got to make our own and choose different colours. I choose Yellow. Sadly I didn't add enough so it didn't come out. My little brother choose Blue. His came through really well.
For those of you who don't know how to make a Volcano, it's quite easy. All you do is mix Baking Soda & Vinegar in a dish you are willing to get dirty.
TIP: DO IT OUTSIDE UNLESS YOU WANT TO CLEAN UP A GIANT MESS!
Hi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome experiment! I really like the yellow!
Do you know why the vinegar and the baking soda react that way?
Have you been doing any other science experiments during lockdown?
Keep up the awesome blogging :)
Sawadee ka Daniel, this looks a whole lot of fun. What made you chose to do this experiment? I really like that you were kind and considerate enough to do this outside so that it didn't cause a mess in the house. I wonder what causes the reaction? Perhaps you could write up an explanation to accompany the video. Looking forward to seeing you back at school next week in Level Two. Until then, stay safe and keep being kind. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Daniel, I am Hosanna from Waikowhai Primary School. I like how you are doing something differint to everyone else. Maybe next time you could write a bit more. Who came up with the idea? Anyway thankyou for sharing you learning with me, blog you later!
ReplyDeleteHi Daniel
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing blogger you are Daniel. I look forward to reading your blog posts and know they will be terrific because you put in 100% effort.
The volcano experiment! I will always remember doing it with our son. I wanted a good strong reaction and used far too much vinigar and soda. It was an amazing volcano... and a huuuuge mess in the aftermath! Our son was wide eyed with excitement while I was freaking out slightly. Actually I was freaking out quite a bit! I have made volcanoes with our other kids however we used only small amounts of the ingredients. I had learned from the first time! Have you seen the experiment done where someone has made a model removable volcano over the bottle? The 'lava' flows out of a hole at the top of the volcano.
Keep up the awesome learning and sharing of your work and look after yourself and your family.
Kia Ora Daniel. That experience was amazing with Thomas's volcano as well. Hope to see you back at school on Monday.

Tino pai Daniel. I really like the way you made the main details bold on your blog post. The blue volcano sure did erupt well (and it sounds like it surprised you). I also like the way you're thinking like scientist in terms of why your one didn't work. Why do you think that happens with vinegar but not water?
ReplyDeleteHi there, my name is Alexandra and I am a Year 4 in Te Ana Ako at Waikowhai School. I really like how you had the idea to do this experiment. It made me think about when I did the exact same experiment but it did not work. Have you thought about doing the colour red instead of blue? If you would like to see my learning, my class blog is http://wpsteanaako.blogspot.co.nz.
