Virtual Disco

Hallo Bloggers

Yesterday we had a virtual disco. If you don't know what a virtual disco is it is when instead of going to school and dancing with your friends you dance with your family.

We were going to listen to the Spotify playlist BUT my Dad was playing Spotify at the same time so we just danced along to some family favourites.

Anyway we had a really fun time dancing to lots and lots of songs. The disco was cancelled because of COVID-19. Below is a video of the night at my house.

Māori Language Week

Kia Ora Bloggers

This Week is Māori Language Week. For those of you who don't know Māori Language Week celebrates the indigenous language of New Zealand, Te Reo Māori.

We have done lots of fun things ifor Māori Language Week this year. By the way if you want to get the lines above letters like āēīōū you can go to maori.typeit.org.

Anyway, my favourite thing this week was the Te Reo Māori comic strip. For the comic strip we had to have at least 2 characters talking to each other in Te Reo Māori.

My other favorite thing we did was finding out our names in Te Reo Māori. Mine was Rāniera. In my comic strip my characters names were Anne and  Tim BUT I used their Māoari names instead which are Ani & Timi. If you want to find YOUR Te Reo Māori name go to myname.kupu.co.nz

Tongan Language Week

Malo e lelei Bloggers

This week is Tongan Language Week. This week at school we have been learning about Tongan Language Week. Usually there would be a festival to celebrate Tongan Language Week called Polyfest but it was cancelled because of COVID-19.

The Tongan islands are located in the Pacific Ocean. In Te Waka Ako there are some Tongan children. Today they wore special clothes and said when and where they would wear them. For lunch they had some tongan food.

This morning we did a Kahoot to end Tongan Language week. It with quite fun.  3 out of the 4 Tongan children came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Anyway below are some phrases I have learned this week.

We also wrote a personal response to Warren Pohatu's art. Warren Pohatu is a artist who creates beautiful art. Anyway below are some phrases I have learned this week.

Mindfulness & Manners Award!! 😊 🧘

Bonjour Bloggers

Today I will be blogging about the Mindfulness & Manners Award.

The Mindfulness & Manners Award is something that the teachers in Te Waka Ako give out. They give it out to students who are using the manners and being mindful or because they are being really amazing. This week I got it because I had helped my teacher during our online Google Meets under Level 3. Anyway that is it from me. Bye!
