Skateboarding

Hallo Bloggers
(Hello in German)

This week we have started to do skateboarding. It is really fun. First of all we had a little bit of free time to experience what it is like on a skateboard. Then we split into two groups. In my group we learnt how to balance. We had to do lunges! We also did it with our eyes closed. The most fun thing we did was play "What's up Wolf!". When you play What's up Wolf! you have one person who is the wolf. Then everyone else has to skate along. When the wolf turns around to look at the others you must stop or you will go back four steps. When the wolf says "Dinnertime!" everyone has to skateboard to the end. Whoever gets there first is the wolf for the next round.

We learnt several skills such as
- Carving
- Tic - Tacs
- a 180° Turn
- and much more

We had two coaches, Ben & Laurence. They are from Young Guns Skate School My favourite thing we did was the carving because it was really easy. Carving is when you put most of your weight on one side of the skateboard to make your skateboard change direction. I also enjoyed everything else.

In our second session we learnt some willy flips. I tried all of them on the grass. When I tried them on the concrete I fell over and hurt my elbow & arm. I feel better now.

Do you know how to skateboard❓

Blog ya later!
