Olympics Work

 Olympics Work

Hello bloggers around the world๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ˆ, this week we have been learning and doing tasks around the Olympics. These tasks have been in Inquiry, Writing and Reading. We have learnt that the summer Olympics are held every four years. We have also been keeping track of how many Medals New Zealand has. We have watched the Swimming, Rugby Sevens and the Rowing. I am looking forward to watch the Shotput with Valerie Adams! Below is an explanation of each activity.

The first task I will talk about is our Inquiry work. We have been doing two different tasks. The first was a slideshow with all the sports logos on it. We had to identify which sport was which. It was a fun challenge. Then we had to pick one of those sports to do an investigation on. I chose the Modern Pentathlon. I chose it because I had never even heard of the sport. My investigation is not quite done however it is looking pretty good. Below is both pieces of work.

Next I will talk about the work we have been doing in Writing. In Writing we have been working on two things. The first is a sport profile on an Olympian. For this we had to pick an olympian an reaserch stuff about them. I chose Armand Duplantis. He is a Swedish Pole Vaulter. Then we had to find an historic Olympian in the same sport. I chose Don Bragg. Making the profile was fun and I enjoyed it. Our other task was a distruptions activity. We had to figure out why the Olympics had been distrupted or cancelled in the past. It was a very fun activity but some of the reasons are grim. Below are all three pieces of work.

The last acitivty I will be talking about today is my Reading Work. I don't have much to say as this is still a work in progress. What I can say is that a new book is coming to this blog soon! Make sure you watch out for it!

Overall the Olympics is a really cool event. I hope you watch it! Go Team New Zealand!

Blog ya later!

Reading - Matariki

Matariki Reading Work

Hello bloggers around the world๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘ˆ, today I am blogging about my Matariki DLO. For those of you who don't know, DLO stands for Digital Learning Object. For this we had to research about Matariki. We read lots of stories. I was one of the many people who used... Book Creator. So, (suprise suprise) I made a book! My focusing question was 'What is Matariki'?. My book is 13 pages long. I tried to embed by book but sadly it didn't work. Please click the photo instead.
