Bees and Butterflies poem

Kia Ora again Everyone,

Yesterday I wrote a poem about what bees do and what butterflies do. I decorated it with some stickers and some sequins. I am not sure if the glue I used to stick down the sequins has set yet.

Lines 1, 3, 5, and 7 are about bees and rhyme.
Lines 2, 4, 6, and 8 are about butterflies and rhyme.

I recorded myself reading it here is the recording

Just incase you can't here it the lyrics are

Bees Buzz
Butterflies fly
Bees Fuzz
Butterflies in the sky

Bee eats flower
They start in their cocoon
Bee has sting power
They fly like a ballon

  1. Amazing poem there Daniel! Great choice in words and how you set up your rhymes (particularly cocoon and balloon). Keep up the good work. What will your next poem be about?
I look forward to seeing it.

  3. Wow Daniel,
I love the poems you wrote, I especially like the 2nd verse: Bee eats flower, they start in their cacoon, Bee has sting power, They fly like a balloon. You did a great job on decorating your pice of paper. The animal stickers look so cute and the sequins are very eye-catching. I like the idea of the theme going in a pattern: Bee, Butterfy, Bee, Butterfly and so on. Next time, you can try doing different types of poems.

Overall, this was a great blogpost. I LOVED your poem and I am so happy you shared it with us. See you next week on the Google Meet, have a good weekend!

  4. Hi Daniel, another lovely poem. Thanks for sharing it. I viewed your recording, but I couldn't hear it - it might be technical error on my part though! Your alternate rhyming lines work well, I particularly like the 'balloon' and 'cocoon' pairing. Keep up the awesome sharing of your work!

  5. Hi Daniel, it's a great idea to use nature to write a poem. I wonder if the bees and butterflies in your garden inspired you for this idea. Maybe you could investigate some specific types of poetry and use these when you are observing your environment to inspire your writing.

  6. Hi Daniel, I sadly couldn't hear the recording but I really like how you included the words in your post so I knew what you had written. The way you alternated bee and butterfly and made each insect line rhyme, was very effective and quite clever too. Have you got a resourse with different poetry forms in it? I get a feeling that you enjoy writing poetry. It's a great form of creative expression.
Keep up the outstanding effort Daniel.
